A diverse forest in Soria to recover a degraded environment

Emblematic reforestation project with the aim of improving the environment and reducing soil loss due to erosion. Species adapted to the environment have been used, focusing on diversification with species such as black pine, holm oak, hawthorn, Aleppo pine and Spanish juniper.

In the short term, the aim is to ensure a vegetation cover that provides ecosystem services and improves biodiversity. In the medium and long term, the forest mass will contribute to the creating environmental corridors and the improvement of the landscape.

OUTSTANDING BENEFITS

CLIMATE AND ECOSYSTEMS: This project will allow the reversal of erosion processes, the improvement of the water balance and will act as a carbon sink. Mixed forests offer a resilient solution to climate change and biodiversity loss.
BIODIVERSITY: This project is a point of special interest for wildlife, where they can find food, shelter and a breeding area, creating a refuge with an important ecological role and improving connectivity in the territory.
SOCIAL: Development of sustainable activities, enrichment of the landscape, and structuring of a territory of high value and affected by depopulation processes.
