Muçununga

A forest to restore habitats and strengthen ecological chains

The Muçununga Project is a partnership between Carbon2Nature and Biomas. Located in southern Bahia, within a central corridor of the Atlantic Forest. The initiative will be implemented on degraded lands and abandoned pastures across eight municipalities, areas with strong potential for the creation of ecological corridors.

Rich in biodiversity, the initiative includes over 70 native species. The restoration of the forest will help regulate local temperatures and improve water quality, boosting agricultural productivity and supporting the well-being of both wildlife and plant life. It will also bring social benefits to nearby communities.

The project uses advanced methodologies aligned with internationally recognized standards, ensuring the generation of high-quality carbon credits with strong environmental integrity and reliability for the voluntary market.

Territorial Transformation

Named after a native ecosystem, the initiative is part of a large-scale ecological restoration strategy with the goal of transforming degraded areas of the Atlantic Forest into productive and biodiverse landscapes. It brings together environmental conservation, cultural appreciation, and the strengthening of local economies.
